Welcome to
For those of you who who are becoming familiar with our church we want to welcome you. We believe that we
are a friendly and loving church where you can grow in your relationship with Jesus through learning the Bible,
and walking with the Lord in every area of your life.

Our Story
In the Summer of 2017 Pastor David Bray and Brenda Bray were serving the Lord telling people on the Camino de Santiago in Spain about the how Jesus is the way to a relationship with God and the way to eternal life in heaven. While on that trip the Lord began to move in Pastor David Bray’s heart to plant a church. He did not know when or truly even where, but the Lord began to move. After arriving home several months later after preaching throughout Europe, and then India, the Lord led Pastor David to plant a church in El Cajon California in the area in which he was raised from early childhood. Pastor David grew up under the leadership of Dr. Tim and Beverly LaHaye at what is now called Shadow Mountain Community Church. He and Brenda remained very close friends with Tim and Beverly until the Lord called them home to heaven. From Day one God has supported and sustained the church.
Even before the name was fully decided, at the very first Sunday Pastor David preached on John 14 and the message was called “Jesus is El Camino”! Pastor David talked about all that God did that summer serving the Lord sharing Jesus on the Camino in Spain. Many of the the people that were there that first Sunday independently said, “That should be the name of our church!” And so, the name was born. Together we all thought El Camino Grace Church would be a great name to express the truth “Jesus is the Way”! Jesus is El Camino Grace. He is the way of Grace!

What we Believe

Bible
We believe that the Bible (Old and New Testament) is the inspired Word of God and wholly without error. We also believe that it is completely sufficient for all of the answers to life, spirituality, and eternity. Although the Bible is not a history or science book, we believe that it is fully without error in all it says about science, creation, and history (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21). We also believe that all revelatory gifts have ceased and that God is not continuing to reveal any special revelation. His revelation is complete through creation, Jesus the Word made flesh, and through the written word of Scripture that ended when the book of Revelation was completed, and the canon of Scripture was closed.

Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the second person of the trinity. He is the eternal word, and only begotten Son. He is eternally God, but became a man by the miracle of the virgin birth. Thus He became “Emmanuel,” (God with us) the perfect God-Man. He is fully God, and fully man. He died on the cross of Calvary to pay for the sins of the World, and rose again three days later to give true life to all who would put their complete trust in Him for reconciliation to the Father. (Colossians 1:15; Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 4:14-16; Revelation 11:15-17; 20:4-6, 11-15).

Salvation
We believe that Salvation is by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ Jesus of Nazareth on the Cross of Calvary. Salvation is a free gift from God, neither merited nor secured by virtue or work of mankind, and it can only be secured through personal faith in the person and payment of Jesus Christ through the propitiation of His sacrificial death of the cross. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9).

Second Coming

God
We believe that there is one true God who has revealed Himself in a trinity. He has revealed Himself through the Scriptures as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is one God with three distinct person’s equal in character, perfection, eternality, and all three are one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 8:6).

Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the trinity, and that He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and that He gives believers spiritual gifts to be exercised by the believer to edify and exhort the body of Christ, which is the church. (1 Cor. 2:10-11; Heb. 3:7-9). We also believe that the Holy Spirit is the one who applies the salvation that was planned by the Father, paid by the Son. The Holy Spirit indwells us at the point of Salvation (Ephesians 2:22), and is the one who seals our salvation (Eph. 1:13).

Man
We believe in the distinctiveness of man to rule over the entire God created earth. God created man alone in His image on the sixth literal day of creation. All men have sinned by nature and by choice, are sinful and lost, and without hope in and of themselves of eternal life. (Gen. 1:26-28; Romans 3:10). Men are fully created beings with a future eternal existence. Man is created in the image of God, but is only a broken reflection of God’s image, and not in any way a god or deity himself. Because of this the words of man have very limited power upon the thinking and perception of others, whereas the words of God unlimited power.

Church
We believe that the Church is an elect body of believers baptized by the Holy Spirit at the moment of Salvation. Its mission is to teach the believers God’s instructions of how to live, and to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to all people. Its ordinances are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. (Eph. 4:10-12; Mt. 28:19; 1 Cor. 11:23-29).
We believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and that His coming, which is our blessed hope, is always imminent. (2 Thes. 4:16-17; Rev. 21). We believe in the literal rapture of the Church of Jesus before the literal seven years of earthly tribulation which will preceed the literal thousand-year reign of Christ in his Millennial Kingdom
